Hotel California

Hello Lovers of all things Beautiful,
This is my first post on my blog so I thought I would just start out by going over what inspires me and why.
Because I am a fourth generation Californian I have always been around various forms of Mexicana. Spending as much time as I did as a child at my Grandparents' hilltop hacienda in Gilroy California has defiantly left it's impression on me. The house was single level horseshoe shaped, ranch style house built in the 1920's. It had a court yard with flourishing pink and red bougainvillea, various types of roses, succulents and cacti. After a long dip in the pool I would lay on the Carmel stone and let it soak up the water while the hot sun took care of the rest. My parents and Grandparents looked and laughed at us kids caring on while sipping tequila sunrises from their Mexican cobalt tumblers. I did not know it then, but the times I spent at that house shaped and created what I believe to be beautiful.

My Grandparents sold the house when I was a teenager and moved to Aptos, California to be closer to the beach and us kids. Luckily the woman who bought the house is a landscape architect and she has since spruced the place up and has posted these wonderful pictures of the house on her website http://www.aitkenlandscapes.com/
